Amber Care

Amber is not a stone, but fossilized tree resin. It has been appreciated for its color and natural beauty since Neolithic times. The oldest amber is 320 million years old! Much valued from antiquity to the present as a gem, amber is made into a variety of decorative objects.
Amber is an excellent grounding gemstone that transmutes negative energy to positive, radiating a warm and bright energy that assists with emotional calming, alleviating stress and anxiety.
The gemstone amber, has been worn for centuries as a natural remedy for pain relief and to promote healing and boost the immune system.

Amber is very soft and should be protected from accidental chipping and scratching. Store amber jewelry in a padded box or in a cloth bag. Amber beads should be strung with knots between them to prevent the stones from rubbing and chipping each other. Never apply hairspray while wearing amber jewelry, as the chemicals in the spray can permanently cloud the stones. Harsh soaps and commercial jewelry cleaners can also harm the stone. Clean amber with lukewarm water and a soft cloth. Amber can be polished with olive oil to add shine.

Do not use your amber jewelry while washing the dishes, taking a bath, on swimming pool or spa.
In order to keep your silver shiny, do not expose it to chemicals such as those found in cosmetics, hairsprays and perfumes. Do not wear your silver piece while bathing, doing the dishes or using cleaning chemicals. If the silver tarnishes, polish it with a silver polishing cloth, which is impregnated with an anti-tarnish agent.
